About Our Patch of Blue

Hi! We’re Kyle and Natalie Mitchell, the third generation of blueberry farmers here at Mitchell’s Patch of Blue. Since 1956, our family has grown blueberries for our community, which now includes 23 acres and seven varieties of Certified Organic heirloom blueberries.

Kyle Mitchell is a Agrifoods, and Culinary Arts Professor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and brings a passion for food safety to the table. We are former members of the Michigan Group GAP Network, ServSafe Certified, Produce Safety Alliance Certified, and a Michigan On-Farm Produce Safety participant.
